ACET Exam Guide: Format, Content, and Study Strategies

The Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET) is a test requirement for admission to the undergraduate program of Ateneo de Manila University. It consists of multiple-choice questions in mathematics, English, general knowledge, and abstract reasoning, plus an essay segment.

Exam Details

• Right-minus-wrong? No.
• Filipino section? None.
• Calculators? Calculators and other electronic devices are not allowed, but scratch paper is provided.
• Time Pressure: The test is conducted under strict time pressure.

Mathematics

Be prepared for a wide variety of quantitative problems. Coverage includes:

Preparation Strategy

• Rest Up: Ateneo explicitly advises to CEASE STUDYING at least 24 hours before your testing day to avoid interfering with long-term memory.
• Pacing is Everything: Keep track of time. Do not get stuck on one question; skip it, move on, and come back to it.
• Follow Instructions: Stop immediately at the end of a section when told to do so by the proctor. Going ahead can get your application forfeited.
